India’s Total Fertility Rate 2.0
India's Total Fertility Rate (TFR) has reached 2.0, aligning with the National Population Policy 2000 and the National Health Policy 2017 goals. This achievement reflects the success of various family planning initiatives, such as introducing Antara injectable contraceptives and Chhaya Centchroman pills, under the Family Planning Programme. The Mission Parivar Vikas targets high-fertility regions, offering financial incentives for sterilisation and post-pregnancy contraceptive options like IUCDs and sterilisation. Public awareness campaigns promote the importance of family planning. Quality healthcare is ensured through the certification of 16,586 health facilities under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
