Digital India Common Service Centres (DICSC) Initiative

Summary: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched the Digital India Common Service Centre (DICSC) initiative, establishing 4,740 service centres across 10 districts to improve rural digital access. Aimed at bridging the digital divide, the DICSCs provide e-governance, financial, and commercial services. The phased rollout will begin in Pilibhit and Gorakhpur, UP, with plans for potential expansion nationwide. By reducing the digital gap between rural and urban areas, the project supports economic growth, local business development, and community empowerment, setting a model for digital inclusion across India.
