The Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister launched the PM-Kisan Mobile App.

What:

• It is a mobile application for PM Kisan Scheme.
  • PM Kisan or Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central welfare scheme.
  • It is a DBT scheme that provides the farmers with minimum income support.
  • 6,000 INR/ annum is provided to the beneficiaries in 3 instalments of 2,000 INR each.
  • It covers farmers, from rural and urban areas, irrespective of the size of their landholdings.
  • The scheme isn’t applicable to:
    • Institutional landholder
