ICMR Wins 2024 UN Award
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) won the 2024 UN Inter-Agency Task Force Award for its work in combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and improving mental health. ICMR's initiatives include research, policy advocacy, health interventions, and the world's largest assistive technology survey. Recognized for supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ICMR focuses on developing assistive health technologies, promoting sustainable products, and enhancing healthcare access. Established in 1911, ICMR operates under the Ministry of Health, oversees 27+ laboratories, and played a key role in India's COVID-19 response.
