EU Clean Hydrogen Investment
The European Commission has committed €4.6 billion to clean hydrogen and decarbonization projects as part of its climate neutrality goals. Funded through the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the initiative includes two new programs worth €3.2 billion, supporting renewable hydrogen production and electric vehicle battery manufacturing. The Innovation Fund, under the European Green Deal Industrial Plan, will distribute €4.8 billion to 85 selected projects in 2024. These investments, facilitated by the European Hydrogen Bank, underscore the EU's dedication to reducing emissions and advancing sustainable technologies to stimulate green economic growth.
