Bharatpol Portal – Crime Fighting
The Bharatpol portal, launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, revolutionises India's crime-fighting approach. Developed by the CBI, it facilitates real-time information sharing among state and central agencies, enhancing cooperation with Interpol. It streamlines requests for international assistance in criminal investigations, particularly for transnational crimes like cybercrime and human trafficking. The portal integrates Interpol Liaison Officers to improve efficiency. It marks a significant advancement in addressing cross-border crimes. Established in 1963, the CBI operates under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act and handles anti-corruption, economic, and special crimes.
