VSHORAD Development by Indian Army

The Indian Army is advancing two major projects to develop indigenous Very Short Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) systems, totaling over Rs 6,800 crore in investment. These systems, including a laser beam riding project and an infra-red homing project by DRDO, aim to counter aerial threats from neighboring countries and strengthen India's defense manufacturing under the "Make in India" initiative. The initiative is also a move to replace outdated systems with modern technology, providing a significant boost to India's air defense capabilities.
