China rolls out own LLM AI based on Xi Jinping Thought
China has introduced a new large language model (LLM) AI based on the political ideology of President Xi Jinping, known as "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era." Released by the China Cyberspace Research Institute, this LLM ensures outputs align with the official narrative, focusing on creating a secure AI environment. It is exclusively accessible to invited users, and its functions include answering questions, writing reports, summarizing data, and translating. This move counters the influence of international AI models like ChatGPT and supports China's strategic goals, including environmental protection, economic equality, and global partnerships through initiatives like the Belt and Road.
