World’s Oldest Cave Painting Discovered in Indonesia

Archaeologists have discovered the world's oldest known cave painting in the Leang Karampuang cave on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. This artwork, dating back at least 51,200 years, features a wild pig and three human-like figures interacting in a narrative scene. The painting, rendered in dark red pigment, is significant for its early depiction of storytelling and challenges the notion that cave art originated in Europe.
