Uttarakhand: First Wine Production Unit

Uttarakhand has launched its first wine production unit in Kotdwar under its new excise policy, aiming to promote wine tourism. The unit has already produced 1,000 cases of wine and plans to use local fruits like malta, apples, buransh flowers, pears, and galgal. This initiative supports local agriculture, boosts employment, and enhances state revenue. The government is also considering new wine production units in Bageshwar and Champawat to expand wine tourism. Featuring visitor-friendly experiences, such as wine tasting and guest houses, the project aligns with Uttarakhand’s vision of becoming a leading wine tourism destination.
