TRAI New Telecom Regulations
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has implemented new amendments to strengthen consumer rights and simplify telecom services. Key changes include extended validity for Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) and Combo Vouchers (CVs) from 90 to 365 days, the introduction of STVs for Voice and SMS services, and the removal of physical voucher color coding requirements. Restrictions on top-up voucher denominations were lifted, ensuring continued affordability with at least one ₹10 option. These amendments followed consultations and an Open House Discussion, aiming to enhance flexibility, transparency, and fairness for consumers in the telecom sector.
