Taiwan’s HAWK Missiles and Ukraine’s Defence Needs
Taiwan’s decommissioned HAWK missiles, developed during the Cold War for bomber interception, are being considered for transfer to Ukraine with U.S. approval. Amid Russia’s aggression, these systems, though outdated, can provide critical air defence, especially against drones. Complemented by modern systems like NASAMS, which includes AMRAAM missiles, these initiatives aim to bolster Ukraine’s military capabilities. Taiwan, while enhancing its own defences, aligns with global solidarity against regional threats, reflecting strategic military cooperation. This highlights the evolving dynamics in air defence and geopolitical partnerships.
