SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn Mission
SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission, set to launch no earlier than July 31, 2023, marks a significant milestone in civilian space travel with the first commercial spacewalk and an all-civilian crew. Funded by billionaire Jared Isaacman, who also played a key role in the Inspiration4 mission, Polaris Dawn aims to reach a high orbit of approximately 700 km, the highest since the Apollo missions. The mission will conduct scientific research on human health in space and test new technologies like Starlink WiFi. The success of Polaris Dawn could influence future space policy and encourage private investment in space exploration.
