SLINEX 2024 Naval Exercise

SLINEX 2024, a bilateral naval exercise between India and Sri Lanka, takes place from December 17–20, 2024, off Visakhapatnam under the Eastern Naval Command. Initiated in 2005, it strengthens maritime cooperation and mutual trust. The exercise consists of the Harbour Phase (professional/social activities) and the Sea Phase (special forces operations, gun firings, communication drills). Participating vessels include India’s INS Sumitra and Sri Lanka’s SLNS Sayura. Activities aim to enhance operational capabilities and promote a rules-based maritime environment. SLINEX highlights the commitment of both nations to regional security and stability.
