Osamu Suzuki’s Legacy

Osamu Suzuki, former Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, passed away at 94. Leading Suzuki for over four decades, he transformed it into a global leader by focusing on compact cars for emerging markets like India. Born in 1930 in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, Suzuki joined Suzuki Motor in 1958, became president in 1978, and established Maruti Suzuki in India in 1982. Under his leadership, Suzuki formed alliances with Volkswagen and Toyota, enhancing CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) technologies.
