Nupi Lal Numit 2024
Manipur commemorated Nupi Lal Numit 2024, honoring women who led uprisings in 1904 and 1939 against British colonial rule. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh led the event at the Nupi Lal Memorial Complex. The government announced initiatives like the Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang Scheme for unemployed women, Ima markets for economic participation, and scholarships for education and sports training. The event highlighted women's leadership and contributions to Manipuri society. Minister Th. Biswajit Singh called for gender equality and peace. Cultural performances, including a Nupi Lal drama, celebrated Manipuri women's bravery and cultural heritage.
