NCERT Proposes 10 Bagless Days for School Students 6 – 8

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has proposed 10 ‘bagless days’ for students in Classes 6 to 8 to reduce academic pressure and encourage hands-on learning and vocational experiences. The initiative aims to move learning outside traditional classrooms, helping students interact with their community and learn practical skills for future jobs. Schools must set aside at least 10 days (about 60 hours) for these activities during the school year, with teachers planning the activities in collaboration with local experts.
