Jharkhand Mica Mines Declared Child Labour Free

Jharkhand's mica mines, primarily in the Koderma and Giridih districts, have been declared child labour-free by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) as of July 2024. Historically known as the Mica Capital of India, these regions faced significant issues with illegal mining and child labour due to poverty and lack of educational opportunities.
