Introduction
Launched on January 22, 2015, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) program was an ambitious initiative aimed at improving the status of girl children in India. With objectives of preventing gender-biased sex selection, ensuring the survival, education, and empowerment of the girl child, the program tackled significant issues through campaigns, infrastructure improvements, and policy measures. Now, a decade later, the program's outcomes show a mix of achievements and ongoing challenges across its key targets.
