ISRO’s LVM3 Multi-Orbit Capability

ISRO has enhanced its LVM3 rocket with multi-orbit capability by developing a “multi-element ignitor” for its CE-20 Cryogenic engine, enabling in-space restarts. This advancement allows the rocket to deploy multiple satellites in different orbits during a single mission, reducing costs and increasing efficiency. The CE-20 engine, crucial for LVM3’s final stage, has successfully passed “Sea Level” tests. Previously, ISRO utilized cold gas thrusters for satellite positioning. The LVM3, with its upgraded capabilities, aims to support future missions like Gaganyaan, marking a leap in India’s space technology.
