India’s Pronouncements at 19th UNFF

During the 19th Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) held in New York in May 2023, India highlighted its success in forest conservation and expansion over the past 15 years. The Indian delegation pointed out their effective forest management and policy implementation as key factors. Furthermore, India emphasized its commitment to international wildlife protection initiatives, showcasing their network of protected areas and the establishment of the International Big Cat Alliance. This alliance, formed by India and involving 97 countries, aims to protect seven big cat species and is supported by an initial 0 million fund from India.
