India Water Week 2024
India Water Week 2024, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu from September 17-20 in New Delhi, focused on water conservation and sustainable management. The event featured 18 expert sessions, a symbolic "Jal Bharo" ceremony, and showcased grassroots efforts, such as Water Warriors Ujiaro Bai and Lakmen Mary Nongkhlaw. Union Minister C.R. Paatil emphasized international collaboration in addressing water issues. The event highlighted the importance of India's rivers and the challenges of water shortages, with 600 million people affected. Initiatives like the National Water Policy and River Linking Project aim to balance water availability and promote efficient use.
