India-Malaysia Security Dialogue

The inaugural India-Malaysia Security Dialogue, co-chaired by India’s NSA Ajit Doval and Malaysia’s National Security Council Director General Raja Dato Nushirwan, signifies a milestone in bilateral ties. Held in New Delhi, the dialogue focused on counter-terrorism, cyber security, maritime security, and defence collaboration, building on Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim’s 2024 visit, which elevated ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The nations agreed to institutionalise annual meetings and explored collaboration in critical minerals. With a history of diplomatic relations since 1957 and strong tourism and aviation links, this dialogue underscores a renewed commitment to addressing regional security challenges collectively.
