India Engages in Bilateral Talks at G20 Agriculture Meeting
India participated in the G20 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting held in Cuiabá, Brazil, from September 12-13, 2024. Led by Agriculture Minister Ram Nath Thakur, India engaged in bilateral talks with countries like the US, Brazil, Japan, Germany, the UK, Spain, and the UAE. Discussions covered climate-smart agriculture, food processing, trade negotiations, and technological advancements. A key outcome was the pending ICAR-EMBRAPA MoU with Brazil to promote agricultural research. Trade discussions included Indian exports of sorghum and rapeseed to Brazil, and citrus imports from Brazil. The event laid groundwork for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in November 2024, promoting international agricultural cooperation.
