India and UK Meeting on Electric Propulsion for Navy

India and the United Kingdom are collaborating to advance maritime electric propulsion technology for Indian warships. The countries have established a joint working group, meeting initially in the UK and subsequently on HMS Lancaster in Kochi, to explore this innovative system which promises increased efficiency, lower emissions, and improved maneuverability. This partnership aims to accelerate India's adoption of electric propulsion, leveraging the UK's two decades of experience in this field. The discussions, still at an exploratory stage, are set to enhance bilateral military engagements and support India's aspirations to produce and export indigenous, ITAR-free technology with UK's assistance.
