HAL-IAF Defence Contract Overview
The Indian Defence Ministry signed a ₹13,500 crore contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for 12 Su-30MKL aircraft and related equipment. This deal enhances the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities and strengthens national defence. Notably, 62.6% of the aircraft’s components will be domestically produced, boosting the indigenous defence sector and reducing dependency on foreign suppliers. The contract is expected to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and foster technological advancements in defence manufacturing.
