Global Liveability Index 2024
The Global Liveability Index 2024 by the Economist Intelligence Unit ranks Vienna, Austria, as the most liveable city for the third consecutive year. The index evaluates cities based on stability, healthcare, education, culture and environment, and infrastructure. Copenhagen and Zurich follow Vienna in the top rankings. North America excels in education but faces infrastructure challenges, while Western Europe sees a decline in stability. The Middle East and North Africa show improvements in safety and healthcare, but Tel Aviv's ranking drops due to conflict. Damascus, Syria, remains the least liveable city, with other cities like Tripoli and Algiers also ranking low.
