Virginia Tech researchers tagged a young shortfin mako shark in the Mediterranean Sea for the first time during a white shark study. Using a pop-off archival tag, the shark's movement was tracked for 54 days, revealing a 750-mile journey. The data provides insights into their migration patterns, essential for conservation efforts.
