New Blue Ant Species Discovered in Eastern Himalayas

Scientists discovered a new ant species, Paraparatrechina neela, in Arunachal Pradesh's Siang Valley. This shiny blue ant, less than 2 mm long, is the first of its genus found in the Indian subcontinent in over a century. The discovery, funded by the National Geographic Society, highlights the region's biodiversity and the importance of conservation amidst environmental threats.
