What is INTERPOL?

Interpol or International Criminal Police Organization is an intergovernmental organization to fight international crime.
It was formed in 1923 and has 195 member countries, including India.
The Interpol’s General Secretariat, run by the Secretary General, coordinates the organization’s everyday activities. It is headquartered in Lyon, France.
- In India, the CBI is the central point of contact between the Interpol General Secretariat and the Indian government.
