Cave on the Moon
The recent discovery of a cave on the Moon near the Sea of Tranquility marks a significant milestone in space exploration. Located close to the historic 1969 Apollo 11 landing site, this cave, identified through NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data, is accessible via a pit formed by a collapsed lava tube. Measuring approximately 45 meters wide and 80 meters long, the cave offers a stable temperature of around 17°C, making it a potential shelter from the Moon's extreme surface conditions, including solar radiation and micrometeorites. However, challenges such as accessibility and structural stability must be addressed through further research using advanced technologies.
