Black Hole Finder App
The Black Hole Finder app, created by the Dutch Black Hole Consortium, invites global citizens to participate in discovering black holes by identifying signals of cosmic events like kilonovae, where neutron stars collide and form black holes. Available in eight languages, the app uses artificial intelligence to process data, while human users help improve its accuracy by recognizing subtle patterns. If a real event is detected, robotic telescopes managed by the Las Cumbres Observatory conduct follow-up observations. This app democratizes scientific research, allowing citizens to make valuable contributions to the study of black holes and the cosmos.
