Speed Gun

A speed gun is a device that measures the speed of moving objects without direct contact, commonly used in traffic enforcement and sports. It employs electromagnetic waves and utilizes the Doppler Effect, where changes in wave frequency caused by motion determine the object's speed. Initially developed for military use, speed guns have evolved with advanced radar and LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, offering greater precision. LIDAR minimizes wave spread by using laser light. Despite challenges like multiple reflections affecting accuracy, speed guns remain vital for monitoring and maintaining safety in transportation and various applications.
