SAREX-24: Indian Coast Guard Exercise
SAREX-24, organised by the Indian Coast Guard in Kochi from November 27-30, aims to enhance India’s maritime search and rescue capabilities. The event, conducted under the National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board, includes table-top exercises, seminars, and sea drills simulating emergencies like distressed vessels and aircraft ditching. Advanced technologies such as satellite distress beacons and drones will be showcased. With national and international participants, the exercise emphasizes inter-agency coordination, technological innovation, and regional cooperation to improve response efficiency in maritime emergencies.
