Prehistoric Footprints Discovered in Kerala
Archaeologists discovered 24 pairs of prehistoric footprints and a human figure carved into rock in Kanhirapoil, Kerala, dating back to the Megalithic period. The carvings, ranging from 6 to 10 inches, symbolize cultural practices and beliefs, possibly honoring the souls of the deceased. These findings share artistic traits with other prehistoric sites, such as the Edakkal Caves. This discovery underscores Kerala's rich prehistoric heritage and highlights the need for further exploration of ancient cultural expressions in the region.
