Polaris Dawn Mission
The Polaris Dawn mission is a private spaceflight led by Jared Isaacman, aiming to perform the first non-governmental spacewalk at an altitude of 700 kilometers, surpassing the height of the International Space Station (ISS). The mission, scheduled for August 26, 2024, will study the effects of radiation from the Van Allen Belts on astronauts, perform health research focusing on conditions like Spaceflight Associated Neuro-ocular Syndrome (SANS) and decompression sickness, and test new SpaceX spacesuits and communication technologies via the Starlink network. This mission is part of a series of three planned Polaris missions aimed at advancing private space exploration and testing technologies for future deep space missions.
