The 16th "Nomadic Elephant" Joint Military Exercise will be held from July 3 to July 16, 2024, in Umroi, Meghalaya, involving the Indian and Mongolian armies. The exercise aims to enhance tactical and operational skills for UN peacekeeping missions, focusing on semi-conventional warfare in semi-urban and mountainous terrains. This annual event alternates between India and Mongolia, with the 15th edition held in Ulaanbaatar. The exercise underscores the strengthening military cooperation between the two nations, highlighted by the 12th Joint Working Group meeting in May 2023. The ongoing series aims to bolster strategic partnerships and regional stability.
