Kamini Roy (1864 – 1933): Important Personalities of Modern India

Kamini Roy (1864-1933) was a women's rights activist, educationist, orator, social worker and poet in pre-independent India. She was the first woman to have graduated with an Honours degree in Sanskrit in British India. She was one of India's earliest feminists with several achievements attached to her name. Her contribution towards empowering women and raising their stature in society is tremendous and will always be cherished.
