India Launches First UG Minor in Quantum Technologies

India launched its first Undergraduate Minor in Quantum Technologies, a collaborative initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Quantum Mission (NQM). This program emphasizes Quantum Computation, Communication, Sensing, and Materials, fostering a skilled workforce for the growing quantum industry. Students can select 18 credits from 30 courses starting in their third semester, with hands-on learning and advanced labs integral to the curriculum. Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) will train educators, while infrastructure and research support will enhance the program’s implementation. The initiative highlights India’s focus on quantum advancements and global competitiveness.
