IIT Madras Unveils Brain Mapping Advances
IIT Madras unveiled advanced 3D images of the human fetal brain through its Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre. This research, supported by global collaborations, enhances brain mapping and could revolutionize diagnosis and treatment for neurological disorders. The project focuses on developmental disorders in newborns, backed by cutting-edge imaging and AI technologies. With over 200 brain datasets collected, including fetal and adult samples, the centre aims to create the world’s largest repository of brain data. Findings will be published in the Journal of Comparative Neurology, placing India at the forefront of neuroscience research.
