Exercise SURYA KIRAN 2024

The 18th Joint Military Exercise SURYA KIRAN between India and Nepal is set to occur in Saljhandi, Nepal, from December 31, 2024, to January 13, 2025. A contingent of 334 Indian Army personnel, led by the 11th Gorkha Rifles, will collaborate with the Nepal Army’s Srijung Battalion. The exercise focuses on jungle warfare, counter-terrorism, disaster relief, and medical training. This initiative, held alternately in India and Nepal, strengthens bilateral defence ties and operational coordination while showcasing deep-rooted cultural and military bonds.
