ESA’s EnVision Mission
The European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed its EnVision mission to Venus, scheduled for launch in 2031. Using advanced radar and scientific instruments, EnVision will study Venus’s geology, atmosphere, and potential for past life. It will explore the planet’s extreme conditions—464°C temperatures, sulfuric acid clouds, and high pressure. Equipped with spectrometers, a NASA-provided radar, and a radio experiment, EnVision will map the planet's surface and assess geological activity. Collaborating with NASA’s DAVINCI+ and VERITAS missions, EnVision aims to provide comprehensive insights into Venus’s evolutionary history and its current geophysical state.
