Pakistan’s National Security Policy

About the NSP:

In late December 2021, the National Security Committee of Pakistan approved the National Security Policy. It covers a 5-year period between 2022 and 2026.
This NSP has been in the making for 7 years and is to be a “Comprehensive National Security Framework” to ensure ‘safety, security and dignity of the citizen of Pakistan’.
It covers economic matters, military matters, water security, foreign policy, demographics and terrorism.
It has placed ‘economic security’ at the ‘core’, in order to achieve this objective.
It is also the 1st time such an NSP has been approved in Pakistan.
