DRDO, IIT-Delhi and Industry Collaboration
At the "DIA-GARIMA" event hosted at IIT Delhi, the DRDO, academic institutions, and industry signed 10 agreements to enhance indigenous defence technologies. Key developments include lightweight bullet-resistant jackets (ABHED) and collaborations for extreme weather clothing. The event highlighted DRDO's Defence Industry Academia-Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) model, aimed at integrating academia and industry into defence research, promoting self-reliance under the "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" initiative. Over ₹375 crore has been allocated to 50 innovative projects in defence technologies, such as smart jackets and protective gear, demonstrating India's commitment to advancing military capabilities and fostering collaboration across sectors.
