Disaster Mitigation Funding for 15 States
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved ₹1,000 crore for disaster mitigation across 15 states, alongside ₹115.67 crore for training civil defence volunteers. Funded through the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF), projects include landslide risk reduction, urban flood management, and GLOF mitigation. States like Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Northeastern regions received significant allocations. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a disaster-resilient India, focusing on reducing the impact of natural disasters through enhanced infrastructure and capacity-building efforts.
