Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS)

The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) has connected all 17,130 police stations in India, enhancing law enforcement efficiency by digitizing police records. Initiated in 2009 with a ₹2,000 crore budget, it includes updates like crime scene videography, forensic investigations, and transparent communication with victims. Integrated with the courts and forensic labs under the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS), CCTNS supports seamless collaboration within the justice system. Key features include tracking habitual offenders, unidentified bodies, and stolen vehicles. Managed by the National Crime Records Bureau, CCTNS aids in crime analysis, policy-making, and effective enforcement.
