Chandrayaan-3 Seismic Discovery
Summary: India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission made a groundbreaking discovery by detecting over 250 seismic signals on the Moon's south pole, with 50 signals potentially indicating moonquakes. Using the ILSA instrument, based on advanced MEMS technology, the mission captured seismic data between August 24 and September 4, 2023. This marks the first such data collected from the Moon’s south pole and presents valuable opportunities for further research on the origin of moonquakes and seismic activity.
