CAG Girish Murmu Elected ASOSAI Chair
Girish Chandra Murmu, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, was elected Chairman of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for 2024-2027. ASOSAI, comprising 48 member countries, promotes transparency and accountability in government audits across Asia. The 16th ASOSAI Assembly gathered over 200 delegates to discuss cooperation and governance improvements. Several new working groups were formed to enhance auditing, and strategic plans were reviewed. This role strengthens India's influence in regional audit practices and emphasizes the importance of good governance in public spending across Asia.
