Bima Sakhi Yojana

The Bima Sakhi Yojana, launched in Goa, aims to empower women aged 18–70 with Class X education by training them as LIC agents. Designed to enhance financial literacy and insurance awareness, the programme offers a stipend structure—₹7,000 in the first year, ₹6,000 in the second, and ₹5,000 in the third year—totaling ₹2.16 lakh over three years. Bima Sakhis will promote life insurance within their communities, aligning with India’s "insurance for all" vision. LIC plans to recruit 200,000 agents over three years, covering every panchayat. The initiative supports economic independence, gender equality, and greater insurance penetration across Goa.
