Ancient Branch of Nile River Uncovered Near Egyptian Pyramids
A recent study discovered a hidden branch of the Nile River, 64 kilometers long, which flowed near the Giza pyramid complex and facilitated the construction of over 30 pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Giza. This discovery, led by Eman Ghoneim from the University of North Carolina Wilmington using radar satellite images, validates theories about ancient Egyptian logistics and engineering, providing new insights into how these monumental structures were built between 4,700 and 3,700 years ago.
